Mossberg 500 Forearm

I have just recently purchased a used Mossberg 500ATP 12 ga. I am looking to completly disassemble it for reblueing but I am having difficulty removing the forearm. The manual states that you can simply remove the barrel and bolt and slide the forearm out from the chamber. Something is blocking the path of the forearm. Any suggestions?

Look inside the receiver. Push the shell stop out of the way of the notch in the action bar.
