1911 Bullseye with X-Treme 200g SWC (Plated)
Does anyone have any suggested loads for Bullseye with the X-Treme 200g SWC plated bullets?
I am just getting back into the hobby after a long absence and recently purchased a SA Govt model (loaded version ![]() Looking at the various data on the net (Alliant and handloads.com) to get an idea of where to start, it seems like no real mention of plated bullets is made. If plated compare to jacketed HPs is similar, I would think that about 5.0g of Bullseye might be a good place to start? Any thoughts? |

4.5 gains Bullseye with your bullet will get you just over 800 fps. Just about perfect for the 50 yard line.
Good Luck... Joe |

Don't get down on the gun if the Xtreme bullets don't shoot well. They are a little spotty in quality.

Thanks
Thanks for the great input.
I've run a 100 rounds through the pistol at this point (Fiocchi) and was really happy with how well it shot as well as how easy it was to put them where I wanted. ![]() My biggest issue was how to treat plated bullets when researching load data. I haven't jumped in and weighed the bullets yet, but they look ggod as far as I can see. |
