A question about a trigger lock from a new member....
Hi, I am in NW GA and am glad to be here. At present I have two handguns, a .357 derringer, which I have never shot...laff and a 8mm Nambu which my dad brought home from Japan, he was in the 11th Airborne.
Anyway, here is my question: my dad is still alive and well but he put a triggerlock on his .38 and promptly lost the key. What can I do to help him get the lock off? I'm not sure if he even know's what kind brand is but probably not. Thanks for the help and i'll be around some, mostly reading. I am trying to gather more info. I want to buy several more guns in the near future. I want to get CC permits for bth my wife and I and the right pistols for each of us. Also I am going to purchase a blackpowder revolver, probably a brass frame Confederate replica. So i'll be looking for info on the subjects. Thanks again, Julien |

Doh...
That make's too much sense.
I'll check it out next time i'm down at their home. I just thought there might be some "do it yourself" answer. Thanks, Julien |

Locksmith. I watched as one took 3 trigger locks off long guns couple weeks took him about 30 min for all of them. One he couldn't pick so he just looked in his book and made a key.
Please don't kick my door down Iam still looking for the key for my trigger lock. When you need a gun you need a gun not a lock and key. |

cheap, quick and dirty, is to take a drill (3/16) and drill out the pins on the lock...then put a screw driver in and twist..should open right up.
Get a master padlock ($3.00) and test on it. Principal is the same! |

Drilling a lock can be tricky. Some locks have a hardened pin or two embedded right where you need to drill. This can deflect your drill and really screw things up. (I speak from experience.
