Firepower: Lube question

I've read and reread the Lube thread, and I have some questions about Lube myself, but I really wanted to ask lube questions and (no offense) break way from the he said she said between Firepower et al and Miltec.

I am no "Tribohead" by any stretch of the imagination, but for someone who isn't, I have done my fair share of research.

First, I find that CLP is the basis of comparison for any and all lube products. Seems fair right? It's been around, I know it WORKS, and if you can't beat CLP, then your stuff is [color=#FF0000]█[/color][color=#FF0000]█[/color][color=#FF0000]█[/color][color=#FF0000]█[/color][color=#FF0000]█[/color] as far as I'm concerned.

Now what really gets me thinking is gun lube vs engine lube. I'm almost tempted to try something like Zmax, "with Linkites". Now Slick 50 is a POS, and Duralube also, everything is either a PTFE resin based, or a chlorine based system. Almost all those "additives" have a federal fraud lawsuit pending against them.

For my rifles, I use pure lithium grease. A can is about $3, and it's a lifetime supply, easily. I have not found something that is as cheap and as reliable for my rifles.

For my pistols, I use CLP. I use Tetra in my bore, and that's been doing a great job as well.

When I was at camp, after about 2000 rounds in my pistol non-stop, CLP didn't cut it. It picked up too much dirt, and so I am in a search for something else. I think CLP does a great job as a "P" but the C and L part leave a bit desired. I've never had rust problems ever with CLP, and I know what kind of basic performance it delivers.

So my question for Firepower is this:

I'm a logical person (gawd, I'm a computer programmer, so logic is what I do daily)

I pick lithium grease for a reason. In my M1A, CLP and other "liquids" don't do squat. They run away.

On my pistols, grease is too thick, but the liquids don't stick around long enough either.

What I am afraid of is not knowing the contents of the lube. a bottle of chlorine will beat ALL lubes in terms of slickness, but you don't see me adding chlorine to my guns anytime soon. So it might be a great lube, but I need to know why it's a great lube. Also, I do see lithium grease on your website, that's good.

anybody who tauts that one type of lube is perfect for every single part on every single gun, either doesn't own rifles, or just doesn't know squat...

I will BUY my own (because mentally, when someone gives you something for free to try, you are more biased against it) and I will put it up against Tetra, which is what I'm considering moving to.
