Anyone shooting a Contender in .223?
I have the 14" (w/ brake) Hunter barrel in 223. I've just starting to reload for it and would like to hear some load experience. I have 748, H322, IMR4995, Benchmark, and AA2520. I hope to find an accurate load with these powders and some 52gr Amax's, 52gr HPBTM's or 55's. I'm leaning toward starting with 748 and 52gr AMAX's. How about it guys? Any suggestions? Thanks, Keith

I have a super 14" ss in .223. I shoot 50 gr Nosler BT's over 20 gr IMR 4198 (THIS IS FROM A FAILING MEMORY SO CHECK THE BOOKS!). I get 13/16" groups at 100 yds and it explodes varmits! Good luck.

I took a super 14, tigged on a muzzle break, added a rifle stock and a 3 x 9 sightron scope, used my 55 gr spitzer 223 on top of 21 grains of 4198 (very accurate out of this firearm) and did what I set out to do when I built the gun. see pic.

I used 748 in the 7 TCU, with 139, and 140 gr. had very good luck with it. Don't know about the 223, mite be a little slow for 55 grs. 322 would be in the same range as 784.
