Windage MOA (AR-15)
With a NM rear sight base, it appears that I can convert my windage clicks to 1/2 clicks with a NM windage drum. How is this possible? What is the difference between the standard windage drum and a NM one? Wouldn't it make sense to use a finer thread aperture screw to acquire NM accuracy? Afterall, there are only so many detents in the sight base, how could changing the knob really do anything?
What is the standard MOA windage clicks? How to I tell what my MOA clicks are? |

ar sights
I may be wrong but...
A2 sights are one MOA per clicks. Competition sights are 1/2 or 1/4 moa per click(with the most common being 1/4). Who made the sight or upper? |

From what I heard, NM windage knobs have an extra detent. This would make sense to me, that one could take a standard "click" and by adding an extra detent offset to one another could possible make a click between a click, thus, converting 1/2 MOA to 1/4 MOA.
But, the pictures of the NM windage knobs I see only have 1 hole where the detent spring and ball would go... hmmm |
