Hornady group analysis app crashing
The title pretty much says it all , when I go into the group analysis and push the + the app crashes . Other parts of the app work but not the group analysis. I have paid for it. I’ve done a hard reboot of the iPad. I went into every setting that I could think of to turn on or off whatever I need to turn on or off. That doesn’t seem to have worked. I even called Hornady and they didn’t know what the problem was because it worked on their phones or it was up and running when I called. See video below.

All of their apps have been having problems for the last 5-6 weeks.
They had a database failure (or data breach?) that they are hesitant to talk about, and it caused some strange effects in various apps. About your only options are: 1. Uninstall the app, making sure to fully clear all related data. Reinstall and hopefully it works. 2. Submit a support ticket and keep harassing them until they offer a better solution.

MG. I have the unpaid version of the app. It only has Hornady bullets in the library. Do they offer other products with the paid version?

I don’t know what all the app has. I know I paid $4.99 and get the group analysis. It has a ballistic calculator. Plug in all your data and it tells you what the bullet will drop out to two thousand yard . You can save and store that data for later rather than having to plug it in each time . Looks like you can keep everything in individual favorites folders for lack of a better term along with your rifle data so it’s all in one place .
I got a specifically for the group analysis and thought five bucks is fine . I tried a couple free ones before I bought it and I wasn’t really happy with the way they worked. That said I wasn’t happy with the Hornady one either since it didn’t work at all. The update fixed that. I just started using the app early today since it started working so I don’t or at least haven’t formed a full opinion on it yet , seems OK so far . I recommend you download the free ones first and see if they work adequately enough for you. I know that’s your jam. lol

It only has Hornady bullets and ammo in all versions.
But you can enter data for other bullets in the paid version of the ballistic calculator.

Using the 4DOF feature
I was just playing around with the app and the 4DOF is pretty cool . You put in all the data into a favorite folder . Rifle , load data bullet powder etc witch it already has bullet data from multiple manufacturers, BC , weight etc .
You pick from your saved favorites ![]() I’ll pick the 175gr tmk Savage and you get the ballistics calculator for that rifle and load set up ![]() This is set up for the Escondido range including its altitude and distance . If I want to change something about the environmental factors. Super simple touch of an icon or a flip of a finger and I can change the yardage or altitude, etc. So I can make a quick adjustment that would take me maybe one minute if that and I can have this set up for Southbay. With its different altitude and distance. I can pick a different favorites folder with a different rifle and load and that same screen will come up, but dialed in for the new rifle and load but still set up for the original environmental factors . The only thing that changes is the rifle and the load data. The range and environmental factors that I had it set up for will stay the same. It makes it super easy to switch rifles while shooting in the same location. Because all the environmental factors stay the same. Can’t wait for Pala range So far, I’m really liking this app especially since I not only have multiple rifles but multiple loadings in each rifle . This app is gonna be great to keep that all organized. In one place that I can keep in my pocket and use at the range.

No the wind adjustment is different, using the above load at 500yds
5mph wind from right to left is a 1.77 moa adjustment. From left to right its a 2.55 moa adjustment. The adjustment up changes as well right to left is 11.95 moa up and left to right is 12.37moa up Thats all at sea level . At 2000 feet is 11.60 and 12.00

I believe you need 4dof models. On the app, it is mostly Hornady with a handful of other makes. -TL Sent from my SM-N960U using Tapatalk |
