Gun coatings

Has anybody used after market gun coatings on polymer frames? Cerakote, etc If so, how did it work.

I don’t know how will it hold up, but I have seen a lot of pictures of painted Glocks.

I think the Cow motif Glock a friend gave his wife is Cerakoted all over.
