How does one get a C&R? How hard is it to get and how much does it cost? I live in Cali, I'm sure that will make more difficult.

Try this link out,

http://www.cruffler.com/

Under departments click on " Becoming a Cruffler"

They have loads of good information as well as anything you need to get started such as cost, weapons that meet C&R criteria, suppliers and the form in downloadable format to get you on your way.

Being in California can make things complicated. I would search your State Dept of Law Enforcement website for information concerning C&R status weapons. I'm not familiar with Cali Law, but hopefully it won't affect you becoming a "cruffler" :D

California recognizes the Federal C&R rules. However, the only C&R firearms you can have sent to you directly are rifles and shotguns that are over fifty years old. You can use the license when you are out-of-state and bring the firearms back to California unless they are "assault weapons" under California law. Handguns are required to be registered with the Cal DOJ within 5 days. The web site that Redlg155 recommended will give you just about all the information you will need. The license costs $30.00 for three years and is well worth the cost just to get the discounts offered by many vendors such as Midway and Brownells.
