If it were me I would go to my local big box store and buy a 3-9 bushnell in the sub $100 range. I have owned more than one and never had one fail. When you get the moolah for a better scope the cheapy will be perfect for a rimfire or shelf duty for the next rifle.

For a while it will. If you don't view equipment as expendable, I'd look elsewhere. Heavy recoil + $50 scope = quick failure.

Well i didn't know you could get it for fifty. I would just get it and try it and let us know for that price.

For that application you might consider a fixed 4x scope. Even with less expensive scopes the fixed powers are harder to kill in my experience. I have a bushnell 4x that has seen a lot of abuse from being dropped to switching between 12 guage slugs use and various rifles.

Barskas are noted specifically to fail very rapidly.
They are cheap Chinese scopes.
You will just have to buy another scope after no more than a couple of magazines.

I put a heavy duplex leupold 2x7 on my beo. it has more eye relief then most scopes and the heavy duplex is great in low light.
