Whats the best way to finish a barrel to look like a Remington PSS or Savage Police type rifle. I have heard about bead blasting a blued barrel, but I really want a finish that wont rust. I contacted duracoat and the guy sent me an email saying they couldnt match any paints. Not very helpfull. I just want it to look close to the remington or savage, and not like I used a sharpie.

any ideas would be greatly appreciated

Check out Brownells. They have a paint called Aluma Hyde II that comes in a lot of different colors, including a shade of parkerize. When applied according to directions, its tough stuff and works very well. Its made for firearms and its pretty much impervious to solvents and heat does not bother it.
