i have been searching for a new marlin 1894ss in .44mag for what seems like forever.. for some reason they seem to be impossible to find in my neck of the woods.. after asking at some of the bigger chain stores and being told "nope can't get it" or "it will take about 6-8 weeks"
i was about to give up... then i remembered there was a mom & pop sports store a few towns down the road.. so i called them up and asked if they had one... the answer i got was one i have heard many times before
"no but we can order you one.. let me get your name and # and i will call you back with a price"
i figured oh good here we go again:rolleyes:
well he did call back in about 5 min and said he could have it in a few days i just had to go put some $ down.. no big deal.. thats how it always works with special orders.
so i asked again just to be sure because i have heard it so many times before... "are you sure you can get it? because i have been calling around for a while now and everyone tells me they can get it and it will take forever to come in or they can't find me one.. so you have to understand i am not trying to be a jerk about it i am just tired of being given the runaround"
his answer "oh i understand and i assure you i can have one here in a few days."
so i jumped in the truck and took a nice ride out to the shop and gave him my down payment.. this was last week so the few days turned into a full week because of the holiday ( no biggie its an important holiday and he did call to tell me it was going to take a few more days ) but i got the call today saying "your marlin is in"
so again i jumped in the truck right after work and this time lead footed it out there and picked it up.. (i think this shop has a new regular customer)
got home, gave it a quick cleaning, then grabbed 20 rounds and went out to give her a quick test run.
WOW! this rifle is accurate right out of the box. i didn't have to touch a thing.. granted i was only shooting out to about 45yrds and only shooting old milk jugs but every shot landed where i wanted it to.. i figure this weekend ill take it out to the range and see how she does at 100yrds.
any way enough of my babbling on to the pics...
