Any of you guys with the 452 FS and the 550 FS?

I have a new 550 Fs (.270) and would like some 2x7 ideas.

Show what you have for the centerfire scopes, and rimfires, too.
I can never get enough of CZ pics.

The VX-II 2-7x33mm is one of the most under appreciated scopes on the market. About the size of a fixed 4x scope, it is 10.9" long and weighs 10.5 ounces. It can be mounted low and has less effect on a hunting rifle's handling than larger scopes. As an all-around scope for big game hunting I regard a 2-7x as superior to the more popular 3-9x scopes. Either has sufficiently high magnification for any big game hunting situation and the VX-II 2-7x has a greater field of view at low magnification, 42.5' at 100 yards. Eye relief is 4.9" at 2x and 3.8" at 7x. Finish is matte black, and both Duplex and Leupold Dot reticles are offered.

I think it's the route I'm taking with my full stock Ruger. I like the old El Paso Weavers for their blued steel tubes and forgiving eye box, but I want modern coated optics. I guess I have to make a concession somewhere. I also like the straight tube 1-4 powered, but I wouldn't put that on a .270.

I have two Leupold 2-7X VX-II and one 2.5-8X VX-III. It is probably the best power range I have found for big game hunting. I like them better than either a straight power or a larger variable.

I used these for my 550 FS:

As for scopes, I have

a Bushnell Elite 4200 2.5-10x40mm on a .270
a Sightron S2 3-9x42mm on a .30-'06

and I plan to put a Zeiss Conquest 1.8-5.5x38mm on the CZ 550 FS when I can afford it. Right now it is sporting an Elite 3200 2-7x32mm.

Thanks, guys. The 2x7 leupold gets my vote.
