1. Are than any others besides the 10/22 magnum and Rem 597 magnum?

2. Are there any high capacity mags out there for the 10/22 mag or Rem 597 mag (that work)?

Mainly just curious. Thanks.

You might shop around for a used Marlin 922M. I've had one for years, never had problems at all. They have a Garand type safety, which I really like for hunting. Never been too impressed with the 10/22M's, been around several which were prone to jamming. Dont know if Ruger ever got all the bugs worked out.
I never heard the reason why Marlin discontinued the 922M, but the one I have has been a great little rifle, reliable, relatively accurate, ( 1 1/2 @ 100 yds) and handy sized. Prices at shops range from $150-$300. Sorry for the rambling, hope you find what your looking for. Andy

Thanks guys, one of those 2 should be just the ticket. There's a 922 in very good condition on gunbroker right now with a reserve of $285 plus $20 shipping. If it goes no higher, would that be a good price?

I think the Ruger functions OK----the problem is---for the $400+/- they are asking for them ---you get nothing more than a magnumized base plain jane 10/22.

Seems like for that kind of money you should be getting a nicer stock or a stainless barrel/receiver---something.

FirstFreedom, I think that is toward the upper end of what I'd pay, but just saw one in average shape at Cabelas in Kansas City for $350 with a no name scope!!! Andy
