So two rifles shot under the same conditions what would be the difference in expected barrel life of .270 win vs rem 7 mag?

About 2 to 1! a .270 barrel will generally outlast two 7 MM Mag barrels.

Barrel longevity will be dependent on how you shoot though. A "typical" hunter will not burn up a 7MM Mag barrel in two lifetimes.

An "enthusiast" that goes out and shoots up 40-50 rounds rapid fire of 7Mag every week or two, will use up a barrel in two or three years.
