Hello. I was wondering what the number equilavent of the Winchester M70 Coyote barrel would be? Actually, more specifically, I'm looking at a custom Mauser with a #4 barrel and was wanting to know if this would be closer to the Coyote 'semi-heavy contour' or a standard sporter weight such as the 700ADL.

Thanks.

I believe a #4 contour starts at 1.125 inches at the receiver end, .875 in the middle and .650 inches at the muzzle (raw size). Coyote is a bull barrel that has almost no taper. Number seven or eight. A model 700 ADL has a very noticeable taper which is much narrower than a number four contour.
