Would it be completley insane to put a HMG style shield on a m59/66. One with a slit in the bottom for the bayonette. A light one. But with vest material riveted onto the inside to help stop or slow down shrapnel and possibly atleast 22 caliber weapons (cant afford kevlar). I plan to produce one in a way that a groove rest in the center and the barrel sets there while a peice goes on top and screws in over the top. Like scope mount rings. I think It might help protect the head chest and neck at close range, for that situation where you just cant afford a locksmith and you really got to take a whizz. And of course, the battlefield we all know Ill likely never see. Just a thought.
