Spielberg editing guns out of E.T. re-release??

I Just caught this on Foxnews.com:

Quote:
De-Fanging the Feds in E.T.

Steven Spielberg, planning a special re-release his movie E.T. the Extra-Terrestrial for May 2002, is said to be tweaking the film for more 21st-century sensibilities, reports Ain't It Cool News.

One of the changes is said to be that every gun in the original film is being removed for the 20th-anniversary special edition.

In the original, the children harboring the alien are chased around by government agents brandishing guns. In the new version, according to Henry Knowles and several other fan sites, the agents will wave nothing more deadly than walkie-talkies.

I saw some movie or another this weekend where there were multiple gunfights were cut out with a butchery that was so confusing that you literally had no idea what was happening in the movie. These were gun fights, evidentely we are not allowed to see things like that in new pansified socialist amerika. They want the sheeple to cower at the sight of a gun, but they would rather they didn't see guns at all, look for them to try and supliment the sheeples violence quota with a wider range of bizarre sexual pratices in a theater near you.:barf:

Maybe he can rework the Ruby Ridge videos, or the Waco films. I'm sure the walkie talkies will be very impressive. He is such a smuck!

Pretty hypocritical for someone who reportedly has one of the nation's largest private gun collections.

So what are we now so stupid as to think that federal agents (let alone local LEOs) are not going on patrol armed?

How stupid. Of course their armed. They should be. It's a dangerous job. Turning guns into radios doesn't change a thing.

No, the feds should NOT be armed. If they need or want firepower, they should be required to work with the local or state authorities, who can supply all the armed peace officers they could ever need.

Maybe they will all have a British accent and have Benny Hill as the extraterrestial being?

That would be the only way I would watch it!

I guess they will someday do a remake of the Bonanza series with all the cowboys shooting at each other with their fingers.

Go figure.

Good Shooting
