Sledgehammer

I picked up my Rossi 454 from Steve's Gunz today. I noticed there were some big limestone rocks in the backstop that got pushed up by the dozer. Had fun busting them all to hell.

That's a pretty beefy recoil pad. Is it for recoil or LOP or both? I find the Rossis are too short for me usually.

Can it shoot .45 Colt too?

The recoil pad is welcome on this 16" beastie. It will handle 45 Colt though I have yet to try.

kcub,

Sweet. I'd love to have a lever gun in either 44 mag or .357.

Only problem with the Rossi 92 in 454 Cassul is deciding which end of the rifle causes more damage.

Looks good!

Did Steve polish it up for you?

He did a wood upgrade, refinish, new pad. Recoil isn't as bad as my Marlin guide gun.

What kind of velocities does .454 get out of a rifle barrel?

Looks like fun. I wouldn't expect recoil to be that bad with a big pad like that.

Very nice, kcub. The 454's sorta tempt me but I already have an excellent 16" Puma in 45 Colt. Only thing I dislike about it is its little bitty stock.

Rossi has discontinued the 454 92. Better grab what existing stock there is. Steve still had a couple but they may be gone.
