Finally got a semi-auto
Since I've started collecting C&R rifles, I've collected nothing but bolt-action rifle - until now:
Chinese Type 56 SKS I've been wanting something that: 1) Won't beat the crap out of my shoulder 2) Isn't a bolt-action A couple of things: * Numbers are all matching except the stock (which I don't think is original) This is based on my research and things I've been told: * Based on the numbers it looks like a early sino-soviet (1956-era) * And yes I know the sling isn't the correct sling On with the pic's! ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() IMHO - One of the nicest Type 56 SKS's I've seen in awhile and cosmo free! |

Well done! Maybe someone will come along and remind us - there's a website that does an extremely thorough job of explaining serial numbers and variations of the Type 56 SKS. Great first Semi-Auto. it's too bad the stock doesn't match, but hey - at least it's not a plastic side-folder. (I saw one of those for sale once that the seller explained was "converted to an AK-47" by adding a banana mag and a pistol grip folding stock
