Reloader 7- 125gr TNT for 30-30
I made my choice in powders for my next reloading session. For a coyote hunt I chose to use my trusted 24F 30-30 over 12ga. I have settled on 28.7grs of Re 7 with Federal match LRP's and use the Speer TNT 125gr spitzer. This should be a good 200yd load if I do my part. I almost chose going with BL-C2 or 748. Any comments on my powder choice?

I’ve been using Reloader 7 behind a 150 grain bullet in a 30-30 Marlin 336 for a few years. It seems to be a fine load with good accuracy out to 100 yards. As for 200 yard accuracy, you may be stretching the 30-30 a bit.

Your right 200yds is stretching it for deer but it should have enough for a coyote. I figure if I site in +1.5" at a 100yds I will be around -3.5" at 200yds. I have to say that where I hunt a 200yd shot would be very rare.

Coyotes aren’t hard to kill, just hard to hit at a distance. You could always use a 100 grainer and with the proper load of Reloader 7 get another 500 FPS to help flatten your trajectory a bit. Of course the combo of light bullet and high FPS might kill accuracy some. You never know until you try. If it works all you have to do is hit Wily Coyote, it will kill him.
