Informational links about The Appleseed Project the LTR
Much has been said over at the Appleseed forum about what the program is about, and certianly if you have read any of Fred's articles in Shotgun News you should have an inkling of what the Appleseed Project is about.
Now more than ever is the time to get out to an Appleseed. When it comes to what to bring, gun wise, well... Some people want to know what you can use, well in these tough economic times, a .22 LR is certainly welcome; you can shooting relatively cheaply and learn or improve your marksmanship skills. Other calibers welcome are .223 to .30-06 levels. No "BIG" bores like .338 or .50 BMGs though. Here is helpful info on the Appleseed Project : To help some "find their way" I isolated and decided to post some links that should help others searching for things. . . http://www.fredsm14stocks.com/ http://www.appleseedinfo.org/as_freds_plan.htm http://www.appleseedinfo.org/ http://appleseedinfo.org/blog/ http://appleseedshoot.blogspot.com/ http://appleseedproject.blogspot.com...ing-rifle.html http://appleseedshoot.blogspot.com/ http://ironat500.blogspot.com/2007/07/aqt-target.html Here's well, 37 pages worth of "Liberty Training Rifle" The Blogspot is just a "fluff" portion (the basic goodies, no extra filler. . . This part is 44.99. Just thought I would let you know. Thanks for all of the info, it should be helpful. I plan on attending the Davilla, TX event on April 18-19th. -Dan |

I wish Fred would update his website to remove all M14 related products that he has no interest in selling anymore. It is just sad and disappointing that a guy who does such good stuff in the firearm community could run (or not run) an abomination of a business that FredsM14Stocks has become.
Appleseed is great but Fred needs to clean up or shut down his stock business and concentrate on appleseed if he cannot do both, and it is obvious he cannot handle them both. Which is a shame because I bet he is still sitting on the largest collection of M14 stocks in private hands. Sorry to get off topic but Fred's business practices tarnishes Appleseed's name to many in the M14 community. |

The only way I found out was because I just put one in my Midway shopping cart because of your link. In fact I drove 3.5 hours last week to pick up a 10/22 for an Appleseed Event, because my old Marlin is in need of some work and I need something reliable for now. I figured a 10/22 with a few spare magazines and a good sling would be sufficient, but the lighter trigger pull and better bolt release will be a real plus. Thanks for the links.
