Radom Hunter, have you seen it?
Hi Boys I just recently came back from Poland where I shoot a great gun, radom hunter. It is based on the kalashnikow, but it is made in Poland so the quality is great.
![]() Radom Hunter is a civilian, semi-automatic only, version of the military AKM rifle. The receiver is made of sheet metal stampings with the barrel, bolt and bolt carrier machined out of steel. The barrel has been lengthened by 93 mm (3.7") to 508 mm (20") and the bore is chromed for longer life. Contrary to its military counterpart the Radom Hunter lacks a threaded muzzle or a bayonet lug. The foregrip and thumbhole stock are made of laminated wood. The stock is finished with a ventilated rubber buttplate. Radom Hunter is fed by a 5 shot magazine (two are provided) although any AK-type magazine can be used. The gun can be equipped with the optional optics rail (offered together with a Nokta 2.5-9x56 scope). My groups at a 100 meters were in the area of .5 moa with the commercial ammo without much effort. I shoot .308 version, there is also 7,62x54 russianwersion of the gun. The rifle feels and looks great but I am not sure if it is available in USA. |

There are no Radom Hunters in the US. Sorry. But there are kits coming in from Poland, for the PKMS and Tantals. These are going fast and you should act quick if you want one, because by September there will be no more. Also, I foung a guy who has some parts for certain Polish AKs for sale. He has stuff for the Beryl, Onyx, Tantal, and Radom Hunter. I can ask him what parts he has for the Hunter if you ever wanted to make a US clone.
I have a few questions for you, what do you think of the dust cover rail? Is it hinged at the rear sight? Does it look like something you can put on any AK if you had the parts? |
