As far as I can tell, its legal to put a flash suppressor on a Mini-14, since it doesn't have the pistol grip stock ; but if its a threaded flash hider, would you have to weld the barrel and flash hider together once it was installed on the barrel in order to remain compliant? I'm alittle confused as to whether the threaded barrel and flash hider are considered two separate evil features or just one. What confuses me are the M1A's which seem to still be made with threaded barrels and flash hiders minus the bayonet lug

Check with your local BATF office to be sure but if I'm not mistaken it's legal to put a suppressor on a Mini-14 if it came from the factory with one. George

Thanks George. You almost need a law degee to decipher the 94 crime bill and how it applies. Maybe thats what they wanted all along. I don't even want the appearance of anything wrong because I don't need the hassle. If its that close to the line, I'll probably just forget it.
