Springfield Armory saint

I am thinking of buying a Springfield Armory Saint with the free floating handguard. Does anyone own one of these? If so how do you like it?
I also would like to hear what anyone else has to say about it. I own an M1A made by Springfield Armory and I really like the way it is made and shoots. I'm hoping this saint is built as well.

I haven't heard much from experienced AR owners...

I have heard it's decent enough though. A good middle of the road rifle.

Most of the experienced gun owners who frequent forums seem to be avoiding Springfield due to what they did a while back. So I can't give much feedback from those types of owners. Most of what I seen is from newer gun owners.

Yep. I've heard the rifles are decent, if not a bit overpriced for what they are... but I'll not be buying anything from Springfield Armory anytime soon, that's for sure.

Essentially, the lobbyist they employed cut a deal with IL politicians to support new restrictions on dealers and small manufacturers, as long as they were exempted. SA denies authorizing that deal, but people find it hard to believe since they were his only client in the firearms world. (Recommend Google for more specific details).

I was not aware of the problem with Springfield Armory. I guess I will be looking elsewhere for another AR. Thanks for the info and replies.

Got one in the shop. Couple of us looked it over and weren't too impressed....no big deal. Lots of other/better choices in the AR world.

I would not get one due to the fact that it has the word Saint on it. I wouldn’t buy anything that was a weapon marked with anything virtuous. I wouldn’t buy one that had Sinner stamped on it either.
I wouldn’t buy anything with a crusader on it either.
Enforcer
Punisher
Anything of the like.

Otherwise, I think it’s a decent rifle.

Wise man.

Although, I'm sure the administration at Dallas Christian College (whose team are the Crusaders) hope you don't expand that prohibition beyond guns.

Rock River Arms. Mine came with a 3/4" MOA guarantee, shoots better than that with superformance Hornady 75 grain match factory bullets and better than factory with handholds.
