Just Right Carbine
[IMG][/IMG]
I recently purchased a Just Right Carbine set up for Glock 9mm magazines. I replaced the factory butt stock and pistol grip with Magpul MOE versions, just because I prefer their feel. Sight is a Bushnell TRS-25. I've run a few hundred rounds through it now, and am quite pleased with it. I am by no means a great rifle marksman, but was able to put most of a box of ammo into a ragged hole at 50 yards. I only had two malfunctions, caused by the fact that I hadn't fully seated the magazine (10 round G26 mags, the longer ones are easier to engage properly). I've heard some pretty decent things about JRC, their takedown model most specifically.
Good to hear you are pleased with yours. I looked at them when I was looking for my AR9. |

I've been loving mine for a little over a year now. I just recently converted it to the takedown model, love it even better now.

Before I built my SBR AR in 9mm, I had the JRC. NO complaints in terms of function or accuracy. They aren't as easy to take apart (screws instead of pins), but they share the same fire control group as the AR15 so trigger upgrades are easy.

What would be a price point for a base model?

I have one in 45. Had some issues with the mags at first. Bolt was hitting the lips of the mags. A quick shave and been running 100% every since.

Just an update. I recently bought a buffer tube quick take down adapter for my JRC. Stripping for cleaning is quick and easy- just loosen the thumb screw on the right side a couple turns, grab the butt stock and turn it slightly, pull butt stock assembly off. A steel stud on the inside of the adapter part mates with a groove on the end of the buffer tube to secure it.

sight question
That TRS 25 with the riser seems to me would be very awkward to use with the low rail and carbine buttstock. A good cheek weld would seem nearly impossible.
Mount your dot sight down on top of the receiver (no sight tower to avoid in the field of view) and I will like your carbine even more! |

With no riser, I would have to put the stock on the very top of my cheek bone to see through the sight. With the riser, it is in just the right spot for me.

I'd never be able to get low enough on the stock to use a red dot without the riser either.
I enjoyed my JRCs, but when it came time to do an SBR, I went with my Lone Wolf receiver instead.

I looked at the JR line, but went with the 9mm Kel-Tec SUB-2000 that also
takes Glock mags. I saved about $200, and it's both reliable & accurate.

After seeing the Gen 2 Sub2000 at the NRA show, I was tempted also, but in the end, I felt the JRC was a lot sturdier and I liked being able to use any Glock mag from 10 to 33 rounds.
Big plus for the Kel-Tec is its feather weight. |
