Magazines for an AR 15

I was in an Academy sports store today, they had several different AR magazines on clearance sale, most for $10 or $12. Tapco polymer, CAA polymer, & Red Jacket aluminum. I have a DPMS AR. Any advice on which of the magazines to spend my Christmas money on?

Out of those, I'd probably get the Red Jackets as first choice. CAA as second. I'm not a fan of Tapco AR mags.

Or go online and order some Magpuls... they can be had for around $10.

I agree the Red Jacket are probably the best of the ones you listed. I seen some today, not sure what kind of follower they use, I would just swap them for a magpul follower though. (they can be gotten for cheap)

I wouldn't get any of them. You can get DSG aluminum mags for $10.50 with magpul followers or PMAGs for $10.

Yoou can get D&H mags from PSA with magpul followers for $7.99. D&H has been making mags for the military for decades. Magpul Pmags for $10 is a good price though.

I have several of those mags from PSA... some can be a little stiff at first, use a dowel to work the follower up and down a few times, that sorts them out.

I think I paid $12 at Cabelas for Magpul Gen2 30rd mags. Fed my reloaded ammo and PMC surplus ammo like a champ.
