Oregon FICs Loooong Delay
Anything I can do besides call the number?
I have a clean record and I've bought guns before. The only reason I can think of is I was out of the country recently? And before someone says "there's something the OP's not telling us," nope, clean record, not even a traffic violation in the last 10 years. Been waiting almost 7 weeks on a couple AR lowers.. Called OSP and the fellow who answered chuckled as he told me they would provide me with another estimated date as a "courtesy" and if they missed that one they would provide another?! A new estimated date never materialized, how long can they do this? |

I betcha it has nothing to do with you being out of the country. It is more than likely that some other BPCurious, same name/spelling, has some sort of record that did not give a green light.
Call them and talk to them. Someone somewhere should be able to get you the answer to your question.

Pretty sure Oregon follows Federal law. If they can't give you a
decision, after 3 days the retailer can deliver the gun to you. That's the law--but it's worded "MAY deliver". The retailer may have a policy of no approval no delivery--you might point out the law to them and ask. Last edited by BillM; February 8, 2015 at 10:03 AM. |
