.35 Remington Load testing
Got out today and finally got a chance to test out some loads for my Marlin 336. Shooting was done at 50yds off of a rest in 5 shot groups. These were without a doubt the best 2 groups of the day.
This load is a 200gr Remington Core-lokt bullet over 35.5gr of IMR 4320. This one is a Sierra Pro Hunter 200gr RN over 34.0gr of H335 I like the results with the H335 but it throws a pretty good fireball out the end of the barrel, this does not happen with the IMR 4320. I may have to try the 4320 with the Sierra bullets and see how that goes. I certainly can't complain about these groups since they were fired with iron sights. Stu |

My standard load for the 35 Rem is 35gr of 3031 behind a Sierra 200gr round nose. I have tried the other powders and had my best results with 3031.
Cycles great in the old Model 8s and groups well in Model 14s. |

I've had great luck with 4064 with loads from 37.0 to 39.0 gr and Remington's 200 gr Core Lokt RN. Three shot gps at 100 yds run under two inches with a 2.5x scope on my Marlin 336. This load at 38.0 gr chrono's at 1932 fps avg. for 5 shots. These same loads work as well or better with Hornady's FTX 200 gr Rubber Tip.
For varmint type loads, I like Remington's 125 and 140 JHP's with SR4759. 18.0 grains will give you a chrono'd 1800 fps and 50 yd gps. of an inch or less. Expansion at that velocity is spectacular....but a varmint only load for sure. HTH's Rod
