ruger 22/45 magazines ?

I have been shooting CCI standard velocity target bullets, after shooting 4 or 5 magazine loads the magazine seems to hang now and then causing a fail to feed. I am wondering if maybe the thick bullet lube is making it hang up.
Has anyone else had this problem ?

fail to feed 22/45

yep, I had the same deal. High velocity 40 grain CCI ammo fed ok all10 rds. I think it has to do with the shape of the projectile in the mag causing cartridge to not tilt up into the feed ramp.

lighter bullets fed in the mag if it was only loaded with 6 or less, hope this helps

I was thinking the lube on the bullets was causing the mag follower to stick. Mine does it with only 5 rounds in the mag = CCi standard velocity target bullets. I completely cleaned the gun and mags today and will see what happens next time at the range

My 22/45's really only like HV ammo regardless of waxed lead or copper coated.

.22s are kind of dirty, both inside and out.
Just check your hands after handling a bunch.
Some folks say it isn't necessary, but I clean the guns and mags thoroughly every time.
And no problems, with any ammo.
That's what toothbrushes are for.
