I am not familiar with the term MARPAT. Could someone explain that for me?

Welcome aboard marine. A fine looking weapon. I want one-although I do not have the credentials for the grips...I do like the finish.

Love it and thanks for your service Soldier!
Fixed it for you.

Nice looking 1911, Marine. I wish the Army would have gone with something along the MARPAT pattern. But it could be worse like the Navy blue pattern, or the Air Force jungle whatever it is. '

Thank You for your Service!

I was going to chime in saying I didn't really care for it. Until I realized this Gun belongs to a United States Marine. You know what, that is a damn fine looking Pistol Thank you for helping to protect this Great Nation. God Bless you and your entire family

That's a good kote job, it's also not too over the top. I'd run 200-300 rounds thru it, the last 1911 I had koted had some issues until the excess coating rubbed off of the rails.

Camo terms & phrases...

As posted, MARPAT is the digital camo format now in use with the USMC.
The US Army uses ACUs(Army Combat Uniforms) with their own digital camo pattern. I read a recent PAO(media release) that the US Army plans to convert to the Multi-Cam camo design instead of using it in certain places like SW Asia.
I, for one, like the cool USMC woodland MARPAT camo. I had a digital desert camo T shirt in the 2000s; .
The urban digital camo & the new US Navy digital blue camo uniforms(like in the blockbuster action film; Battleship, ) are good too.

The newer US Air Force(USAF) tiger stripe camo makes no sense to me, but I'm sure the $$$ the DoD spent was worth it.
