.454 Casull Load For Large Animal Defense....

If the bullet pictured below were at 362 grains, 18-21 bhn, and had a muzzle velocity of a little over 1,600 FPS from a 20" barrel rifle.....

Would it be an acceptable defensive round in northwest mountain areas where large, startled, peeved animals could possibly be encountered?
"My plea is that we stop seeking out the storm and enjoy more fully sunlight. I am suggesting that as we go through life we accentuate the positive. I am asking that we look a little deeper for the good, that we still our voices of insult and sarcasm, that we more generously compliment and endorse virtue and effort." Gordon B. Hinckley

That's a middling .45-70 load @ 1600, so it will be a thumper. Just get a Kwikeze pad installed.

That'd be an awesome critter boolit. Water drop them when you cast and it will increase hardness to ~ 24 bhn.
