If the Kali laws weren't so insane, I would jump on the M94.

Update
Well it's awhile since anything has been added, I've been distracted with other things but there is some progress. As a matter of fact, I'm about ready to do some preliminary tests. Here are some pics of the nearly completed test tube, so to speak. I'd like to add more but I can see there is a limitation. All I have to do is cut a slot in the backstop for the triggering mechanism. As I've stated before I'm paranoid about closing the bolt on a hand grenade so I'm working on a pneumatic actuator that does away with all of the cocking mechanism other than the firing pin, bolt shroud and cocking piece. Unless there is another stray asteroid in the wings, it will be fool proof. Realizing, full well, there is no such thing. The first rounds are going to be tame just to test the system and this I'll do with the regulation parts, and, a Kevlar glove.

Ackley's Handbook #1 & 2 Available!
I just started a new thread with that title. It is about a company that will print out of print books on an individual book/$30 basis.

Honestly that doesn't surprise me, the amount of steel in that ring area is the whole reason Mauser went to the "Large Ring" M98. And you still see blown up M98's here and there.
Looks like the M96 was harder than the 94, the grain structure in the steel where the side rail seperated isn't a good sign for ductility. Jimro

This will do it
It's been a long and winding road but I can say for certain that 49 gr of Alliant 2400 does the job. This is after 41 gr DIDN'T do the job. Unknown date '93 Oviedo. The Swede didn't quite hold up as well.....
