How much for this gun?

Hi,

I'm new to the site so I hope this quetion is in the right section. I'm looking to buy an H&K Compact 40. A friend has one and absolutely loves it. I've shot it and like it myself. Aside from it not being available at most gun stores nowadays, it looks like the msrp for it is over $900. Yikes! In the used market (but not too beat up), what would be a good to great price to shoot for? Thanks.

Unfortunately the gun scare has artificially jacked up prices across the board. If you even find one for sale, chances are the asking price will be what you'll be paying.

For example an FN FiveseveN retailed new for $950 before this mess. Used ones are now selling for $2000.

Are you referring to the HK USP40 Compact? It really depends on the actual gun, but I would guess $450 to $750. I know a local shop that has some Police trade-ins in the full-size going for $529.

The ones I've seen here locally on armslist are about $650-750 used. I saw a .45 listed for $550 that was gone within two hours.

BarryLee - Yes, I guess I meant to say USP Compact 40. $400 - $700 is not bad compared to the mrsp. Any suggestions on what to look for when inspecting used guns? Thanks again.
