.50 GI accuracy?
I've been thinking about getting a 1911 in .50 GI. Haven't used the round before, how is it when it comes to accuracy?

The guns are built to tight tolerances and use very good barrels. This is what gives you accuracy. Bullet size or type does not make much difference in a handgun at normal ranges. A .45 is not going to be more accurate than a .50 in a properly fitted handgun with a quality barrel. Handgun accuracy is pretty much all in the hands of he operator. Rifles are another story.

don't have a .50 GI, but have a couple other 50 cal handguns, & find the 50's shoot every bit ( perhaps maybe even more ) accurately than the lesser calibers... I'd suspect any of the 1911 platforms built to handle the 50, provided they are all fit well, aught to shoot as good as anything else out of that platform
