The headline suggests a causality (more guns = less crime) which is a highly suspect claim because basically every state has seem similar declines in violent crime, including states with restrictive firearms laws like CA,IL,MA,MD,D.C., etc.
http://www.disastercenter.com/crime/ If this data suggests anything it could be that "more guns do not equal more crime", which may not be the sexier headline but one that should be embraced by gun owners nonetheless. |
