Well, I Finally Got Off My Duff

And filled out all the paperwork for a concealed carry permit. Alabama has a "May issue" law so there's no guarantees I will get one. But I'm a hoping.
Some people think I'm paranoid because I have guns. If I have guns, what do I have to be paranoid about?

Well the usual understanding is that it's "may issue in law, shall-issue in practice". Most listings of state CCW laws list AL as shall-issue for that reason.

I assume there'd just be rioting if permit issuance was still handed out along racial lines...the South has actually confronted past racism in stuff like this where it's still an epidemic in California, New York, etc.

If you do run into problems let us know, and hook up with whoever the local NRA affiliate org is in AL.
