A really neat gun on my Short list, Loved the look of the Stainless Steel after shooting the black powder...

JUST A QUESTION..

The Big Question I have had on this gun is rather to purchase it in 44 Russian or 45 Colt.. I would love to hear The Pros and Cons of the two calibers????

I think the Nickel-plated version is only available in .45 Colt at the moment.

In general, I prefer .44 Russian in this gun for two reasons:

1. It is the historically correct cartridge
2. Significantly less recoil

I have one in .44 russian and I love it. Hardly any recoil, it's as accurate as I am, and it's fun to shoot. Also, as duelist1954 said, it is historically accurate.

very pretty gun but gets real dirty real fast firing that bp in the video.

Dale,

Here's a picture of my Schofield after 50 rounds of smokeless powder ammo.

They all get dirty, you can just see it better on a nickel-plated gun.

Not to be undue greedy here, But you would have a close up photo of a nickel plated gun with 50 rounds of BP through as a side by side.. ???

Only if it is is not a hassle..

having never owned a gun with such a finish, So this may be a stupid question but if after you clean it does the finish look as New????.. And say after 10 or 20 cleanings and shootings cycles does the finish show any dulling in those high gun powder residue area???..????
