AC556 / Mini-14 bolt assembly question...

I'm assuming that the bolts on the AC556 and Mini-14 are identical - but can anyone confirm this for me? Also, what's involved with fitting a new "used" bolt to an AC556? Should they drop in, or is fitting an issue? I don't need a new one, but would like to acquire a spare. But, before I plop down money on a spare bolt, I want to be reasonably sure that I can fit it to the receiver without too much difficulty.

Unless Ruger has changed their policy those parts are only avail to be installed if the rifle/machinegun is sent into them for repair, parts not available to gunsmiths or others. I know at one time there was a major change in the bolt from one series to the other.

Sorry I am not the one to help on this issue.

The reason I asked, is because if I look at buying a mini-14 parts set, I want to know that the bolt can be fitted to the AC556.
