.35 Whelen problems

I have been using 30-06 cases that I have opened up to .358 using my RCBS full length sizing die for my .35 Whelen. I have no problems with boattail bullets seating properly but flat base bullets tend to wrinkle the brass at the neck and destroy the case. Does anyone have any recommendations for avoiding this costly circumstance. I have a goodly supply of the flat based bullets on hand and really would like to utilize them.

Have you beveled the case mouths? If so then maybe the expander button is not the correct size.
