2011 youth rifle buck, better than his muzzle loader buck last year!

This is the buck that I had hunted hard with stick and string, couldn't ever seal the deal. Fast forward to youth rifle season, and I am hooking up my son.....again! (He's going to have to find his own deer!) Proud of him! Took it to taxidermist and rough scored out at 169 3/8".

Nice. Is that a 10 or 11 point?

Actually easy 16 points, if you press for what I was told counts or is allowed, 19 points. I am trying to load one of the pics of the back side view of his rack. (Not cooperating)

Main frame 10, split G2 left side, split eye guard left side, and several small kickers. The score is gross and rough score, he will be scored after it has dried and been mounted and I will post on this thread gross score. Gross is the only thing that actually matters to me, in the sense that this is a super nice buck, better than any I have ever taken, but it is going to have deductions and to have a buck that nice and say it is only 140"+ just stings because you go with the deductions. Total bone is my philosophy for what that's worth.

Nice job to the scouter and the shooter. Looks like you have a hunting partner for life. I hope the mount turns out like you want it.

Very nice buck. Usually once in a lifetime you get one like that. (Unless you're one of the TV hunters that pays $$$ to hunt the game farms)...

No pay for this one or any of ours, they are all free ranging, and open to roam to neighboring properties!

I can't stand the thought, personal opinion only, of paying 4K or better, based on the inches, to "hunt", and this one, would have cost that much and more if it was pay-to-hunt.

Although I didn't get to be the one to put him down, I can say with certainty, that I am even more happy that he got to do it, with the exception that, I told him, he is never likely to beat it. I did say that last year on his primitive buck too though, so maybe he's going to be lucky!
