The new MKA 1919 shotgun is interesting, but it's even more interesting when gunsmith Marc Krebs turns his attention to it.

man-bras.../ that's not a pretty sight ...

It might make a good HD gun with 5 +1 in m16 style mags. You can carry extra mags and load it alot faster than a standard pump. 6 rounds of 00 Buck would daunt any intruder, and that thing spits them fast. However, nothing is as reliable as a pump or SBS when it comes to a shotgun.

Nothing is as reliable as a well put together auto. No worrying "did I break the barrels hard enough to reset the trigger???" or "Are my hands, wet with sweat, going to short stroke the pump?". Dirty or dry, the Inertia benellis go "Boom, Boom and Boom".

Those are very valid points. However, the pump is just going to be inherently more reliable. Im sure autos can be just as good though... I dont have much time with auto shotguns so I cant speak from my experience. I really like this one though all they need to do is perfect it and I would grab a Short Barrel version, the customized one. I really like the way this auto looks.

If you really want reliability go with a double gun. I've never had a double fail to feed between the first two shots. It happens with pump and auto guns, but most folks give up reliability for a supposedly faster 3rd and subsequent shots.

True the double will be the most reliable I thought I said that in a previous post but guess not. I would rather have more than 2 shots unless im going to use the double for the 2 drop it and then use my pistol.

I don't know why any of us would have need for one of these, but in the context of the military for whom it is designed it may be a great weapon. Veterans of the Mid-East would know better, but didn't one recently say that they use shotguns for breaching doors and then sling the shotgun and go to a carbine? I can envision the need for a fast loading semi with mags, however, in a situation where you are in danger of being over ran by an enemy that is literally in your face, but then would something like a chain gun be best? (I had heard that they jamb.)
