"Read Only" Threads
How about locking threads that are inactive for more than a certain period of time, so that they are "read only" so new (and old) members don't resurrect stuff from 5+ years ago. It's happening quiet often lately and the little "inactive thread notice" seems to go unnoticed by them.
In the past week alone, I can think of two examples of this happening. One was a guy offering to buy a Colt Grizzly from another member that posted a pic in a thread from 2004-ish. The second was about the FBI issued pistol from 9 years ago. People don't seem to may attention to the dates.

Nope, some people don't. They'll resurrect a thread without any real reason to do so.
On the critical annoyance meter, it's about a .1, and given the amount of traffic at TFL it's NOT that common occurrence. Sometimes there are valid reasons for resurrecting an old thread. If all of the old threads were locked, though, that wouldn't be possible. Frankly, we'd rather deal with the occasional misressurection than locking everything down.

There's already a warning box that has to be checked when people reply to a thread that's older than some limit... I think it's 30 or 90 days. I think that's a good middle ground.
