In the top address bar (it's on every screen), among the things like "Forum Rules," "User CP" and such, is a link called "Calendar."
Once there, you can add public events to inform all members. |

... and the nice thing about using the calendar to post events is that they show up on the front page down below the small "Statistics" window where everyone can see them.
Unfortunately, almost no one uses the calendar function. |

Hmmmm, Mal? How hard would it be to move the "events" banner from the bottom to the top? Say, just above the Main Forums? Is that at all doable or a Java rewrite?

I think it would take a very minor hack, but if it is moved, I'm not sure the top would be a good place for it. Maybe it should be the first item under the "What's Going On?" banner followed then by the "Currently Active Users"?
However, as I said, no one uses that function. We would be hacking the program for nothing. |
