Senior Member in Six Days?

I'm not really an active poster, but I visit to read, learn and be entertained almost daily, now, for nearly 4 years. I've recognized a curious thing recently, though, where a new member spends a few days commenting on everything, much like chat room conversations, and their post count goes from 2 to 392 before the week is done. BAM ! - senior member. No big deal, really, but now I look more carefully at the member's identity before I read their post. I've learned quite a lot from some. Thanks to those who continually add value to this forum.

All of the terms "New Member", "Member", "Senior Member" mean practically nothing. As you indicate, they are merely indicators of post count. It's the quality of those posts that makes a member a valuable asset to TFL, or the lack of quality and merely quantity of posts that makes a member less so.

Those 3 terms are the default indicators from the vBulletin software.

If senior member/post count meant anything I would win some arguments on this forum.

I tend to get pretty surly when someone, or multiple someones, start questioning the veracity of a member based SOLELY on his low post count and see that as a reason for getting nasty with the new individual.

It's a "measure" that has absolutely no validity, and has come close to getting a few people booted from TFL in the past.
