congrats... Ain't ya glad you used the patience so hard to find... So were you on the ground or in a blind? If in a blind I bet he was pinned to the ground.

You've got to take those shots when you get a chance. I drew on a nice big tom the first year I ever bow hunted. I decided not to shoot because I didn't want to scare any potential deer with all the commotion. If I had only known how hard it is to draw on a turkey! I've tried like 5 times since then and been busted every time.

Good job.
Still happily answering to the call-sign Peetza.
The problem, as you so eloquently put it, is choice.

and one was standing infront of me about 3 yds.
Reminds me of the 'suicidal' turkey a buddy of mine killed.

He had never shot a turkey before so I took him and did nothing but call for three days with no response`s. About 10:00 on the 4th day, we changed hunting location`s from an area we previously hunted. Got to new location and drove back to an old gas well. I was standing at the front of the truck and he was at the back getting re-dressed. Turkey came out on road and started walking straight towards us. I told him if he wanted a turkey he better get his gun.

I`ve spent many hours hunting turkey and am convinced that some are just 'suicidal'.
