Carrying in National/State Parks/Wilderness areas in CO
We're going backcountry camping in CO next month. Can you OC in wilderness areas/national forests? When does the national park thing take effect? And it only covered CCW, correct?

The NP 'thing' takes effect in Feb 10 or so and covers all guns not locked up-when in NPs. Ill bet some would argue even against those locked up.

Yes you can open carry in National Forest or wilderness areas in Colorado. National Parks are different at the moment. Where are you planning on going ?

Either the San Isabel forest or the Holy Cross wilderness. We just want to hike and camp, maybe hike a fourteener.

You will be fine to open carry while you are hiking in both of those places. Also, they both have some of the prettiest scenery around. Have fun.
