Unmarked cylinders?

I just came back from the show and picked up a couple of nick-knacks...

Two of them were, what I believe are cylinders for 1851 Navy's.

They were brand new, but sold as is. Can't complain for the price...

My problem is, these are unmarked- not a proofmark or anything.
A friend had a Uberti Navy with him, but it doesn't quite work right.

My question is, were any makers known for not marking cylinders?

When I get home, I'll try it on my Piettas.

I believe that the Pietta Remington replacement cylinders are not proofmarked and are plain and unmarked.
In general replacement cylinders may not be required to be proofmarked since they are not installed on a working gun when sold/exported.

original is proofmarked:

replacement is not proofmarked:

Yeah, I bought a SS .44 cal cylinder on GB and when it came in the mail...there were no # or letters or anything on it. It fits just fine in my two 58 Remmys.

1858 NMA from Pietta, no proof marks on original cylinder or the two spares from Cabela's. All the other Italians I have are proof marked, odd.
