I am looking into a US Springfield model 1884 with a serial#Z71038. Does anyone know when this was produced?

I am willing to be corrected by those who may know, but I don't know of any "Z" prefix serial numbers on trapdoors. Could the number be 271038? If so, the rifle was made in 1885, probably in February.
