SW MP 15 optics suggestions.

just picked up a SW MP15. Flip up rear sight standard front sight. I would like to add a scope or some form of optics to the rail on top. However I do not want to spend more for the optics than I did on the rifle. Any suggestions from AR owners?

What's your intended purpose for the rifle? That affects optic selection considerably.

There's a bunch of red dots out there that are good for plinking. If you want something a little tougher, look to the Aimpoint and EOtech.

I've used both, and prefer the EOtech. You mileage may vary.

If it's just a plinker, no use in dumping $1K on a milspec ACOG. Find a nice Nikon or Burris in the $200 range, get decent mounts, or spring for QD rings and head to the range.

I have a Millett DMS-1 on my M&P. Good scope for plinking and coyotes, but far from "tactical" or even Tacti-cool. Puts holes where I want them though...(About $220 shipped, BTW)

G3 night vision is kinda cool. The thermal scopes under $5k aren't very good yet....
